As a member of the Engineering Unit, the Metrology Technical Assistant will work under the coordination of the Metrology and Reverse Engineering Group Leader. With a strong experience in Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing and Metrology, they will be mainly involved in the definition and review of geometrical and tolerancing product specifications, preparation and follow up of verification activities during manufacturing, preparation and implementation of processes (e.g. reverse engineering processes) for the managing of as-built data behind product life cycles.

The successful candidate will amongst other tasks:

• Support F4E Programme teams in the definition and the follow-up of the propagation and the verification of the geometrical requirements embedded in product specifications.
• Assist in the optimization of the geometrical specifications behind engineering designs with a view to minimize fabrication costs while satisfying performance requirements.
• Contribute to the development, analysis, qualification, execution of metrology verification activities for the assessment of geometrical product requirements.
• Carry out and/or supervise metrological surveys in the premises of F4E suppliers.
• Develop and implement Reverse Engineering processes aiming at collecting and managing geometrical as-built data during the product life cycle.
• Prepare Tenders and manage specific contracts under the metrology services framework contract.
• Cascade and implement F4E quality requirements for metrology (F4E and ITER metrology handbook) in the various F4E manufacturing contracts.
• Supervise the work of external resources and F4E experts in relation to areas of expertise
